For everyone who feels more alive moving than standing still.
Start Here →I have a full time job. I have people depending on me. I carry fears before every trip.
And I still go.
I grew up in a world where leaving felt irresponsible. Where travel was something other people did. Where settling down was the only plan that made sense.
Then I went. And something shifted that has not shifted back. Chasing Stamps exists for everyone who feels that pull and does not know what to do with it.
Read My Full Story →"My therapist said I did not need regular sessions in January. I seemed so alive. She saw me again in March after I had been back for a month and a half. We started sessions again. The only thing that had changed was that I had stopped moving."
— Nouman · Chasing StampsNobody told us we could travel. Nobody handed us a guide. This is everything we wish we had known before that first flight.
A green passport, a Pakistani passport, an African passport. Yes, it is harder. Yes, you will be questioned more. Yes, some borders will make you feel small. But difficult is not impossible. I have crossed borders that should have stopped me. Every single time I got through. With preparation, with clean documents, and with the stubborn decision to go anyway.
I was terrified before every trip. What if I get stopped. What if I get lost. What if something goes wrong. I still carry that fear. The difference is I stopped letting it make the decision. The fear does not go away. You just learn that the cost of not going is higher than the cost of the fear itself. Book the ticket. The rest you figure out on the road.
You do not need perfect savings, perfect timing, or a perfect plan. You need a valid passport, a visa, a flight, and somewhere to sleep on the first night. That is it. Everything else is improvisation. I have shown up in cities where I did not speak the language, did not know anyone, and had no idea what I was doing. Every single time the city taught me what I needed to know.
You do not have to start with Bali or Bangkok. Start with one border crossing. Malaysia. Sri Lanka. Azerbaijan. Countries that are genuinely accessible on a South Asian passport with a manageable visa process and a reasonable budget. Build your travel history. Build your confidence. The further destinations open up once you have stamps in your passport and proof that you go and come back.
Where are you going. How long are you staying. Do you have a return ticket. How much money do you have. These questions feel intimidating the first time. They are not personal. They are procedural. Answer calmly, carry your documents, show your hotel booking and return ticket, and you will be fine. The border officer is not your enemy. Preparation is your best friend.
Whatever country you want to visit, whatever fear you are carrying, someone who looked like you, who held the same passport, who came from the same city, has already done it. They figured it out. You can too. And if you are not sure where to start, that is exactly what Chasing Stamps is here for. Real advice from someone who has actually been through it.
"I got to know that I am alive when I am travelling. And I carry a Pakistani passport. If I can do it, so can you."

Singapore is the cleanest, most efficient city in Asia and a gateway to the rest of the region. One of the few places where a Pakistani passport gets you looks of surprise rather than suspicion, but the border crossing still requires preparation.
I entered Singapore via the Malaysia land border crossing. We were stopped and questioned for two hours. Our bus left without us. We found our hotel using public transport in an unfamiliar city. If you are entering Singapore on a Pakistani passport, I can tell you exactly what to expect.
Cambodia is one of the most misunderstood countries in Southeast Asia. Beyond Angkor Wat lies Kampot, a sleepy riverside town that feels like time has stopped. Kep Beach. Fresh crab. Quiet sunsets. Cambodia rewards the traveller who actually shows up.
Before I flew to Phnom Penh, an Emirates staff member at Singapore airport told me there was a 95% chance I would be deported from Cambodia as a Pakistani passport holder. I went anyway. I was questioned heavily on arrival. I got through. I spent time in Kampot and Kep Beach, two of the most peaceful places I have ever been. Do not let the warnings stop you. Prepare properly instead.
